"CINDY MASTRY: Using blocks in your yoga practice can help you easily transition from one difficult pose into another. So we're going to have Faith demonstrate that for us right now. She's going to come in to her semi-wide stance to come into a Trikonasana or triangle. So she's going to lengthen up, inhale, reaching up to the crown of the head, reach her arms out, and she's going to turn her right toes to the side and her left heel back, keeping her hips square to the front of the room. I'm going to give her this block and she can take it either by the pinkie toe or by her big toe, whatever works. She's going to inhale and lengthen and exhale and lower that block down, giving her stability, moving the floor up to her hand to make this an easier pose to come into so that she can just sink into this pose and be able to find stillness and meditate in the pose and find her breath. To move here into her side-angle stretch, she's going to bend her front knee and walk her back leg back just a little bit. She's going to position this knee right into her elbow and her elbow into the knee reaching up. Good. And pressing into the little toe to the heel to find the length, opening up the side door, the side body, side door to the heart, turning her palm towards her face and then extending her arm long so a full stretch, one long line of energy from the heel all the way up to her pinkie toes--her pinkie fingers. Good. And then to come out of this, she can reach her arm back up, grab on to that block, press off and lift herself all the way up. Bringing her block with her, she can transfer it to the other side and ready to do that pose on the other side."
