"In sports conditioning chest press is basically horizontal adduction, but it's also natural plane of movement, when we're going forward for the ball, going forward to catch something, going forward to stop something, block. In this particular exercise we're going to include the Bosu, which again, is going to fire that kinetic chain from head to toe, get that central nervous system working. So when we lunge, we're going to fire on top. Push forward and we're going to start with both hands coming forward, and alternate our feet, and work with a press forward with both arms at first. Once you take one arm out of there, you're going to have more to balance. So start out with both. Press forward. Most sports are done in quick explosive movements. You're on the tennis court, your goal is to think, to get that ball back over the net. So, boom, you've got to think quick. It's explosive. In sports conditioning, we like to do quick, explosive, weighted movement that mimics the sport, what you're functionally, naturally going to do in that particular game. Once you get both down, alternate one side or the other, so you get that cross-crawl mechanism going, that fire pattern going from the brain all the way down. Again, you've got to balance. Take a moment to stick it, knee right in front of the toe, in line with the ankle, and boom, forward. Boom. Think about initiating that movement in the arm from the tricep, because that's where your powerhouse is going to come with any swing or carrying motion."
