"Hi! My name is April Plant with Yoga Etc. Studio on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip, we will learn the mermaid on the Pilates Reformer. So we will start by having Helen take her left hand to the foot bar, right hand to the side with the palm facing up. She will enhale to prepare and exhale to lean over the foot bar and really getting a nice stretch through this right side. Now working a little more strength, she is going to inhale extend through the left and exhale and then resisting that spring weight back in. Inhale and extend and exhale and resist. I'll have her do that two more times. Really great work here in the shoulder for shoulder stability. Actually it is good length here through the side. This will be the last one. Good. Coming back in she will inhale back to the start position and then for counter stretch, just take the right arm down, left arm will come up on the inhale and exhale across. Good and she will just keep rotating herself towards the front pressing down through the hip bone and lengthening through the side oblique. That should feel like a really great stretch here for the side. We will inhale back up here to the start and then just release. Nice work and that is the mermaid on the Pilates Reformer. "
