Summary: Learn how to do the roll back with a twist pilates exercise in this free health and fitness instruction video.
"Hi! My name is April Plank with Yoga Etc. Studios on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip, we will be working with the roll back with a twist on the Pilates Reformer. So Helen is going to start to work with us. Her arms are going to be up towards the ceiling. We are going to take an inhale to prepare. On the exhale, she is going to roll down drawing the ribs and hips closer together keeping the shoulders back. On the inhale, she will twist to the right keeping the shoulders back and twisting mainly from the obliques. On the exhale, she will use the opposite oblique and come back to the center. She will inhale towards the opposite side and as she exhales, she will come back to the center again. We will just repeat that several times. She will squeeze that ring for a little more work through the chest and arms, exhaling back all the time keeping the shoulders relaxed and down the back. Good. This is a really good exercise for that core stability. One more inhaling and twisting getting those obliques which are those diagonal muscles to engage and work. This will be our last one. Inhale and exhale back to the center, holding on your inhale and exhale roll yourself back up to those sitting bones and back to your start position. That was roll back with a twist on the Pilates Reformer. "
