"Hi! My name is April Plank with Yoga Etc. Studios on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip, we will be working with the arms pulling straight back part of the Pilates Reformer Repertory. So we are going to have Helen start by grabbing onto the hand straps and reaching the arms along beside her. She wants to create a straight line here so that the wrist are nice and straight, the shoulders are straight, she is sitting up nice and tall, back the neck nice and long. Perfect. She will inhale to prepare and as she exhales, the arms are going to go straight back engaging the back of the body. Good. Inhaling and exhaling pressing back. Keep going and as you notice when she moves, nothing is moving through the core. Very important the ribs keep pulling down and the back stays nice and neutral. Legs are gathered and glued together, nice long spinal extension. Three more; good and this is a good exercise to build up the strength in the back of the body, the posterior powerhouse. This will be the last one. Nice work and relax. Great job and that's the arms pulling straight back on the Pilates Reformer. "
