"Hi! My name is April Plank with Yoga Etc. Studios on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip, we are going to learn the triceps on the Pilates Reformer so we are going to start by having Helen move a little bit away from the shoulder rest. She is going to go ahead and grab onto those hand straps, reach hands up to ceiling. She is going to lift her legs into a tabletop making sure the knees are right in line with the hips. To get into the proper position, she will take an inhale to prepare, exhale the arms down to her sides. Now this will be the starting position for the triceps exercise. On the inhale, she will bend the elbows reaching the fingers up towards the ceiling. On the exhale, she will straighten the arms and come back down to the carriage. Good. She will continue that in a nice slow motion. This is a really effective exercise for the backs and the arms, the triceps muscle but she is still having to stabilize with the entire abdominal area to hold the legs in this position. Good maintaining in a nice neutral spine so that the hips are staying very stable here. Nice work. We will do that one more time keeping those elbows right towards the sides, exhale and straighten those arms. Now inhale the arms straight up to the ceiling, set the feet down onto the bar and completely relax. Great work and that was the triceps on the Pilates Reformer. "
