Video Transcript

"Hi! My name is April Plank with Yoga etc. Studios on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip we will be learning the footwork on the reformer, heels on the bar. Helen is going to be helping me out with this clip today. Thanks for being here. I am going to have Helen start by placing her heels on the bar and flexing and her feet almost as if she was standing on the wall, so her feet are straight up and down. She is gather the legs squeezing the legs together coming to a nice neutral position with her arms resting beside her. On the inhale she will take the carriage out, get a full extension with the spine but be careful not to lock the knees. On the exhale, she will blow out through her pierced lips drawing the navel into the spine engaging the abdominals. We will just repeat that motion inhaling smoothly out extending the body and exhaling resisting the pull of the springs and coming back in and just repeat that motion. As she comes out she is engaging her legs and as she is coming in, she is putting a lot of good strength through those legs. Good, four more here. inhale and extend. Really focus on that abdominal stability and that pelvic stability. Great job. Full extension and resisting and this will be our last one here. Inhaling and pressing and exhaling and resisting in. Beautiful and that was heels on the bar in the pilates reformer. "
