"We're going to talk about the most important safety accessory in skateboarding, the helmet. The helmet while light weight is very durable and can protect your head from injury. Also when falling forward, the helmet as a front piece that can also protect your face and nose from injury on the pavement. Helmets generally come in the same size shell with different pads and different thicknesses to increase the size of the helmet or decrease the size of the helmet. In the case of this skateboard helmet, if I wanted to make it tighter, I can simply get thick pads. These pads remove easily with Velcro and new pads can be placed in and this way you can also replace warn out or dirty pads. One trick to a helmet that doesn't fit right is to put something else on your head to cushion it and in this case I'm going to use a baseball cap. These pads while they fit me while I first bought the helmet have worn down over time and now the helmet is a little loose fitting on my head. I simply place the baseball cap on backwards, place the hat over it, clip in the chin strap making sure it's not so snug to where it's choking me but not so loose that the helmet moves on my head. Notice that the helmet is firmly in place even when I move, I feel it moving with my head and not trying to fall off. To remove the helmet simply squeeze the strap, take it off and you learned how to use the most important safety feature in modern skateboarding."
