"Hi, I'm Holly Heidemann and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to wrap a polo wrap around a horse's leg. Polo wraps are a great way to protect your horse's leg and at the same time keep them nice and cool. These are not as hot as a neoprene wrap and you can leave them on for a little while without worrying about building up heat and causing a problem. So I'm going to go ahead and wrap this horse's leg. We're going to come over here and I'm going to wrap the front leg. To wrap the front leg you are going to start underneath the knee and what you want to do is lay your polo wrap to where it's underneath the knee and wrapping towards the back of the leg. You never want to wrap this way and wrap the tendon in from that direction. You want to hold it this way and wrap it this direction. So actually that is counter clockwise as your standing next to the horse. So I'm going to wrap, I'm going to move the wrap down a little bit, and then I'm going to take another wrap. As you come across you are going to pull the polo wrap snuggly across the front of the leg. You don't want to pull when you are coming around the back side. So you are going to go around, pull, around, pull, around, pull, around, pull. Come up and underneath the horse's fetlock pull. Overlap and wrap, pull, overlap, pull, overlap, pull, overlap. Now the last thing you are going to do when this wrap is completed is you are going to secure it with some tape and what I have over here is some electrical tape and you are going to take that and you are going to secure the wrap with that so that in the event this scarecrow comes undone you have a back up plan. So I'm going to take that and I'm going to put it right around like this. That way this cannot come undone while I'm running. You are going to use these polo wraps when you barrel race. I don't use them just to exercise or on a daily basis."
