"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Joe Spano. Right now we like to start with the forehand volley which is the simplest stroke to teach cause you are hitting the ball in the air and it is just blocking the ball this way. Okay now we see that using the simple eastern grip with the V in the middle would be the best conventional grip to teach a beginner how to hit the forehand volley. The thing that we want to notice about forehand volley if you look at my feet you using a visual cue I use this line and I try to teach a beginner to step across the line so you hit the perpendicular to the net and racket is way out in front of the shoulder. But the youngsters would say we just make a stop sign and there is no wrist movement. If you also notice my back foot is what is pushing towards the ball and gives the pop. The heel comes off the ground and this is a basic of a forehand volley."
