"Hi, my name is Christopher Howell with Expert Village and today I'm going to talk to you about how to watch soccer and it's basics. Now if the offender who was trying to score on the goal, kicks the ball and it goes over the goal or anywhere past their back line which means the ball is now out of play, that team that was the defenders will now have the ball, they'll be the offenders. I'm going to go ahead and demonstrate a goal kick. Usually your goal will be about right here. You'll have your lines right here for the smaller part of the goal and then the actual goal, or not the actual goal but the goal lines will extend about fifteen to twenty feet outside and that will be the whole goalie box. But the goal kick itself will be from a smaller box and they can put the ball, there'll be a small goal line right in front of the box, and they can put the ball anywhere within that goal line and that's where they go ahead and do that in which is called a goal kick. And so they basically get a free kick to go ahead and kick it down field to where one of their players are. They'll stop, set up, take their time and then kick it."
