"Hi, I'm Kelli and this is Covey on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you my options and techniques on how to groom your horse. One of the other things we are going to do here to groom our horse is we are going to clean out their feet. So we are going to use a hoof pick like this, it has a little brush on the other end. You always want to make sure that you clean out your horses feet really well. Especially if they stall a lot, they get a lot of wetness in there which could lead to a lot of hoof problems, a lot fungus issues, that type of thing. So you just want to make sure that you keep their feet really nice and clean. Also too if they happen to have a rock in there and you ride them with that rock in there, that could lead into some bruising which could be very damaging to your horses feet. So we are going to pick up her foot, we just going to run our hand down her leg. Pick up her hoof and we are just going to take our pick and pick out any dirt that might be around the sole of the foot her and around the frog. We would just take our brush and brush out any remaining dirt. I'm going to take my hand put my hand and let her know that I'm headed back to her back foot. I'm going to run my hand down her leg to get her to pick up her foot. Just pick out any excess dirt and brush it all out; let it down. I'm going to walk around the other side enough distance away so she would not be able to kick us if something would startle her. So I'm going to run my hand down her leg and give her a little squeeze so she would pick up her foot, pick out any dirt, brush off any excess. Lead my hand and let her know that I'm headed to her back end. Run it down her leg pick out any dirt, brush out any excess. Walk back around to the other side here. You just want to make sure that you are alway cleaning out your horses feet, keeping it free from rocks and debris because without a healthy feet you would not have a healthy horse. "
