"Hi, I'm Mara Keith-Hunter for Expert Village. Today I would be talking about how to clip a horse. So wood twitching is sometime necessary to use a twitch. Now this is just a basic chain twitch there are other kinds that can be useful especially if you are working by yourself. We are going to use this one today and when twitching it is always important to first take the horse off of the cross ties because there is a good chance that your horse is going to back up and not like the idea of getting twitched. So I have my assistant here, I'm going to start putting the chain over his nose. I like to put it all the way down underneath and Dave is going to hold him. I'm going to take his lip and take the chain, I"m going to twist it until it is really tight. You can't be to sympathetic cause it would not work if you really don't get it tight enough. So what this does it releases and comes your horse down. So after doing this, it is totally humane so what that is going to do is just make it possible to clip his ears and other areas that he is not comfortable having clipped. "
