"Hi, this is Mara Keith-Hunter for Expert Village. Today I would be talking about how to tack up a horse. After riding it is important to take proper care of your tack. The sweat and dirt accumulate on the tack so what we do is we just use water and a sponge of basic leather cleaner to wipe down all the areas of the bridle, the girth and the saddle. We would also start by rinsing off the belt. You want to make sure that the leather is moved away from the bit cause water any excess is not good for leather. Here we just have a bucket of water. I'm just going to take the bit just using your hands work away any dirt and grime that is accumulated. "
