"Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you some tips and techniques that I use when using transitions in the western style riding. So now that we have our horse calmly walking. We are going to want to make sure that she would halt when asked to. So what we are going to do is we are going to make sure that we are sitting square in our saddle. We are going to sink more weight into our saddle and we are going to pull back and say whoa. Now depending on how your horse is trained she is trained to do a squeeze stop. So if I want her to stop what I'm going to do is just stick my spurs in on each side right at the girth. She is going to stop. So again if your horse is not trained to do this I don't recommend that you try until you either work with a trainer or if you feel like you are able enough to do it on your own. Because if you jam your spurs in or your heels in that is usually more of a forward command to your horse and you may end up going for a little wild ride. So you can either pick up really gently, sit and say whoa or you can squeeze stop. So whatever level of training your horse is at and you are comfortable with . So that is how you would want to transition to the walk back the halt."
