"Hi, I'm Kelli and this is Covey and on behalf of Expert Village, we are going to show you my options and techniques on how to free lunge your horse. So when you are free lunging your horse, you definitely want to make sure that they know the word whoa so you can get them to stop. Because you have no line attached to them so that is going to be really difficult for you to get the horse to stop if they don't listen to you. So we are just going to pick her up to a trot her. I'm going to say whoa, whoa and we are going to put our whip behind us cause that is going to be a cue that we no longer want her to go forward. We may even have to drop our whip. Trot. Whoa. Dropping our whip is definitely a cue that we no longer want them to go forward and we are done with it. So if we drop our whip they definitely would be a lot more willing to stop. So that is how you want to halt your horse when you are free lunging. "
