"Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to ride your horse to a walk. So now we are going walk our horse and we are going to do walking with 2 hands on the reins. So the first thing we are going to do is we are going to pick up a little bit on our reins and get a little bit of collection which means having your horse drop its head, flex a little bit at the pole and lift its shoulder. We are then going to apply a little bit of pressure, give her a little cluck and she is going to walk off. Now if I was doing this with steady pressure, with our calf's to keep her going in a steady forward motion, we are holding our reins loosely but evenly. We are turning her to which way we want to go. Our shoulders nice and square keeping your legs nice and relaxed, so heels down. Since I'm riding her 2 handed, this is more English style on having her move out a little bit more at the walk. Western walks a little bit more slower a little bit more collective. But I just have her move out a little bit. So that is how you want to walk your horse with 2 hands on their reins."
