In some parts of the world they still pull our farmer’s plows and carry our loads. They’ve been indispensable in herding and driving our cattle. And the police have mounted horse patrols for crowd control situations in urban environments. No question, horses have proven to be well-suited for human life, expressing qualities of loyalty and bravery, responding to commands, and usually having a calm, docile demeanor.

Since they are wild animals, all horses need some sort of training before they can work side by side with humans. Especially in horseback riding, the relationship between horse and rider must be cultivated over time and with the proper techniques and equipment. "Hi! I'm Kelli and this is Colby and behalf on Expert Village, we are going to show you my opinions and techniques on how to free lunge your horse. So some of the supplies that you will need to free lunge your horse is a round pen or enclosed structure such as this. Free lunging out in a big riding arena is not really such a great idea. It gives the horse a little bit too much too to get away from you. You will end up kind of running all over the place to try and control them. So having a round pen like this or even a little bit smaller, some little fenced in area where you can allow your horse to lunge is really ideal. You can usually get the gates to put together at any local farm supply store. You also want to have a halter on the horse. Not really imperative that you have one on to free lunge but it does make it easier if you do want to catch if your horse is a little to catch since you have a halter on your horse. You will also want to have a whip. Unless your horse listens really well we you are in a free lunging type of situation, it is a really great idea to have a really great idea to have a long lunge whip like this. Horses have a tendency to have a little bit of an healthier expect for whips so it will just, make them stay out on the rail where they need to be and if they do get a really crazy, they will try to run after you and it will keep them from running over you or kicking you.
