"Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you my tips and techniques that I use to bridle my horse with a western bridle. So when you are preparing to put your bridle on your horse you want to be able to hold its head in a manner where it is not going to be able to get away from you. You would be able to have enough control over the horse so you can pull the bit through the mouth and pull the bridle up over the ears. So you want to always stand on the left side. Horses are not comfortable being approached from the left then what they are from the right. You are going to have there head over your right shoulder. You are then going to bring your right hand around so you can have your hand across the horse nose. So this would give you a little bit better control so you can better hold on to your horse if it does try to lifts it head or pull away from you or it tends to be a little bit abrasive at the bit. It does not like to take the bit. It just gives you a little bit better control so you can hold on a little bit better so you they will not fight you as much or they would not wonder off from you. So that is how you would want to hold the horse head to put on the bridle."
