"Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you my tips and techniques to saddle your horse with the western saddle. So the first thing that we would do before we saddle our horse is we are going to place our saddle pad on the horses back. So we are going to approach the horse from the left side. We are going to take our saddle pad we are going place it up further on the horses neck and we are going to slide it back so it is sitting properly over the wither. We want to make sure that we have the saddle pad sitting directly on top of the horses shoulder. We slide it back to the direction of the hair lay smooth under the saddle because it would be uncomfortable for her if we had her hair brushed the wrong direction when we put the saddle on top. So we just want to make sure that we smooth her hair out underneath and we have the saddle pad sitting in the proper place so that would ensure we put our saddle on it is going to stay on. And that it is going to sit in the proper place that is going to be more comfortable for her. So that is where you would want to place your saddle pad. "
