"Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you my tips and techniques to saddle your horse with the western saddle. So I'm going to go over the main parts of the western saddle. A little bit different than the English saddle. Of course we have the saddle horn or the pommel which differs from a English saddle verse that you have the part of the horn. This is because western saddles were first invented for roping. This gave you something to tie your rope around if you where chasing after a cow. The cantle which is this back part of the saddle here. You have of course the seat, you have the saddle skirt which is this here. This is your stirrup fender, of course you have your stirrup which is down here. You have your cinch and this long strap which is around the other side here is called your billet strap and this what you hook your cinch to so you can tighten your girth for your saddle to stay on. So those are some of the basic parts of the western saddle. "
