"Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you my tips and techniques to saddle your horse with the western saddle. Now we want to tie our horse to groom her. If you do happen to have a barn, you can cross tie your horse. Basically what a cross tie is it is a chain on either side of the aisle that would clip to these D rings here on the halter. So your horse could stand in the center of the aisle so you can groom her. Now we don't have the situation right here so we are just going to tie her to the fence. You want to make sure before you do this that your horse is a horse that would tie because otherwise you are going to have one that pull back and it is going to end up being a ugly situation. So you want to make sure that before you attempt doing something like this your horse is willing to tie and stand. So what we are going to do is we are just going to take our lead rope and we are going to loop it over the fence rail here. We are going to make sure that we tie her pretty close. We don't want her to have a lot of slack because we don't want her to be able to get down there to eat grass or we don't want too much line so she could get tangle in it. So we just going to loop our lead line around here, we just going to take the loop we are going to cross it over here. We're going to pull it through like that so it is just a quick release. If we have to undo it really quick if she starts to spook instead of pulling away, we could undo it in a really quick fashion. So we just going to take this, loop it through and just do a really quick release like that. So that way if she does happen to spook we would be able to be undone really easily so that she would not get tangled in the fence or end up ripping down the fence and dragging the rail with her. So that is how you want to tie your horse. "
