"Hi my name is Sarah and on behalf of expertvillage.com I am here at Petland in Pembroke Pines, Florida to educate you a little bit today about caring for your ferret. At your ferret’s first vet visit, the vet may or may not give your ferret some vaccines depending on your ferret’s age. Baby ferrets do require a series of vaccines just like you do with kittens and puppies. Baby ferrets should receive a series of canine distemper vaccines and then they should receive a rabies vaccine once they are 16 weeks of age or older. After that they need to go to the vet annually for an exam and vaccination against canine distemper and rabies. Ferrets should also be kept on heart worm prevention year round. There are a number of different heart worm preventions that your vet will discuss with you. If you would like any more information about the animal hospital that I work at, you can go to www.extracareanimalhospital.net and if you would like anymore information about Petland in Pembroke Pines, you can go to www.petland.com."
