"Hi there! My name is Fran Friedman and I’m with Morning Store Animal Sanctuary and I am here to talk to you about things that ferrets don’t like or maybe dangerous for ferrets on behalf of expertvillage.com. Some toys that are actually made for ferrets, ferrets actually don’t like them. It’s all preference because there are so many ferrets that are always going to be an exception to the rule. We have quite a few ferrets here and most of them we put in this little ball and it has a cover for each end. First of all if your ferret ever feels confined that he can’t make it out, which was the first mistake we made, we put it in with the cover on one end and what happened is they tipped it over so it was like this and the cover was covered and they were very upset and were really getting stressed. So I took the cover off of both of them, I have put it in sense and they really don’t care for it. It’s nothing against it. Your ferret might love it. They are supposed to be so that you close it and they roll around the room but ferrets do not like to be confined. I’ve had more than one ferret owner tell me that it’s not a good idea, not a good toy. Also be careful with house plants. If you do have house plants, I don’t have any more at all, just so that I don’t have to worry about it. Your ferret will dig in the dirt and sometimes they will chew on the plants and that could be poisonous, so that is something that your ferret should not play with as a toy. If they do want to dig, you can always put their little harness on, take them outside and let them have a little bit of digging time in the yard. "
