"Hi, this is Jill Berman and I'm going to talk to you about the Championship Class in an Alpaca Show. The Championship Class consists of all the first and second place winners of a specific color and a specific sex. Not a specific age. So all the different age groups, up to six months, one class up to one, six months to a year is the next class, and then up to two years is the next class and after two years is the next class. So say we were going to do these little white ones here, and they're the same sex, and we have a first and second place winner. The first place winners all go line up in a row and the second place winners all line up behind that first place row. The judge will pick a first place or a color champion, which is a banner like this out of the Alpacas in the first place row, and that will be selected and the award will be given. And say you have four or five Alpacas that are the same color and the same sex, but all the age range, that are competing now in the Championship Class. That first place Alpaca has left a slot open. Where that slot is left open, the second place Alpaca from that age group moves into that slot and that Alpaca, with all the other Alpacas now, back again that were first place winners are evaluated for the Reserve Championship and whichever one is determined, do receives a Reserve Championship award, and that's what we all strive for, really, is to have champions in these shows. It tells us that our, the quality of our Alpacas are where we want them to be. Right up on top and that's what we strive for."
