"Hi, this is Jill Bergman and I am going to talk to you about what happens when you get your animal your alpaca into the show ring. You have a definite direction in which your to walk so that the judge can examine how the alpacas walk is. If it?s a good walk a good gait and we walk right past the judge she takes a look to see or he or she takes a look to see the straightness of the alpacas back and then we walk away from the judge and the judge looks to see how the back end of the animal is moving and then she has us all line up in a certain direction and she kind of has a competitive study to see how the alpacas profile is and from the profile then she starts examining each alpaca and the first thing that the judge wants to see is the alpacas teeth. So we take the alpaca open its mouth and she gets to examine its teeth. After she examines the alpaca?s teeth. She checks out the whole body of that alpaca. After the judge examines each alpaca inspects the fleece to make sure that the best fleece gets first place. The second gets second place she will award these alpacas form first to sixth place and the alpacas the alpacas that are not awarded up to the sixth place will be asked to leave the ring. These six alpacas are left in the ring and then the judge will go first to second to third and give its called I think its called a judgment on each alpaca that she feels that justifies her placement of the alpaca from first to sixth place. Then the ribbons are given from the blue ribbon to the red ribbon all the way down to sixth place. From there we go into what?s called a championship round."
