"Hi, I'm Jill Bergman. I'm going to tell you a little bit about how important it is to keep these Alpacas cool in the Summer. Their their originally from the Andes Mountains in South America. So, they have to be kept cool cause they're accustomed to a cool climate and they just don't do well in a lot of heat. So, every Spring we have them shorn, and I'm having my shorn at the beginning of June this year. And, it will help a great deal because their, their fleece is very thick and very dense. And, it, it just would cause them to have stress, if we didn't shear them. And if they get stressed they have a bigger opportunity to get sick. Another thing we do in the Summer when it's really hot, is we hose them down. We, and they love it, particularly the darker animals. We hose their necks, their legs and their bellies, because their thermometer tends to be on their bellies and so, we try to keep them as cool as possible in the Summer time. "
