"Hi, I am Jill Bergman and I am going to talk to you a little bit about how weather effects the Alpacas. When there very small and there born in cold weather we have what are called cria coats. By the way baby alpacas are called crias I don't think I mentioned that. Thats a very important thing and here is a example of a cria coat. This baby is a little too big right now. But if the weather is cool we'll put on these little jackets and you can see this is not a baby anymore but we'll put on these little jackets and it will insulate them enough when its about forty fifty degrees to keep them or cooler. To keep them, their body temperatures the same. When they get older we don't worry about that at all because as you can see their fleece is so thick that they have their own fur coats. Thick fur coats to keep them warm during the winter. There from the Andes remember in South America and so its very very cold there during the winter."
