"Hi, I'm Jill Bergman and I'm going to talk about how important it is to keep things clean around Alpacas. In the winter time, we put straw to keep it warmer for the Alpacas but it's real important that we still keep it cleaned and picked up because we don't want to have a parasite infection get within the Alpacas. So cleanliness to us is very, very important. We keep the pastures clean. We clean poop 2 to 3 times a day just to make sure that things are kept as clean as possible. And some of the things that we do to keep it clean are we keep the hay off of the ground so that the Alpacas are not getting their hay mixed up with any kind of droppings that they might have laying around. We keep the droppings up as much as possible, especially in the barn. In the summer time we don't have trouble in the barn because the Alpacas don't go to the bathroom in the barn but in the winter time, sorry, they do. So, we have to manage this. Keep this cleanliness thing going all the time."
