"Hi, I'm Jill Bergman. Now I'm going to talk to you about my most favorite topic regarding Alpacas: their toilet habits. There aren't many animals that do this, but Alpacas tend to go, not only in one place, but they tend to go all together. So if one goes over to what we call the poop pile to go, often times three or four of them will walk over, see what that Alpaca is doing and do the exact same thing. They like to do things together and this is where you really see it, is when they are going to the bathroom. It makes it very nice for cleaning up though because, in order to keep a clean pasture, you have to keep the feces off of the grass, and so we clean up our Alpacas two or three times a day, the poop piles I should say, not the Alpacas themselves. But two or three times a day we clean up that, those poop piles and make sure that there isn't any around on the grass because that is what causes problems, and what causes parasites is when you don't make sure that you get that poop cleaned up. And you know, it's one of the most important things that we do, is to make sure that things are always kept clean because these Alpacas will stick their noses down and be smelling and will be touching that, so if there's not too much of it around you don't give them the opportunity to have problems."
