"Alpacas are originally from South America the Andes Mountains in South America and way back when. When the Incas were really thriving the alpacas were the animals of the royalty and only the royalty owned alpacas and it was because of there fleece. There fleece produces the most luxurious fabrics and so the royalty keep that for themselves and of course you know the Incas we don't know what happened to them but they are no more. But then there were ranches established in South America in the Andes Mountains, where the alpacas have all been domesticated and they have wonderful wonderful ranches down there. There fleece production is extensive we have nothing near what they have in South America as far as alpaca fleece production. They came into the United Stated in I would say in the mid eighty's they haven't been here very long and actually the Suries just came in in about nineteen ninety three. We actually have stopped importation of the alpacas in to the United States in nineteen ninety nine. So every alpaca that has been born after nineteen ninety nine that you find in the United States is from here nothing from South America any longer. So all of my alpacas are born here in the United States."
