Today we are talking about sugar gliders and how time and attention they require as pets. These guys if kept in a large colony of gliders which is generally a rare case for most people that is a zoo type situation. It would take about 20 minutes a day worth of time for food preparation and just general maintenance care. Most people either have one or two of these animals and they require a decent amount of time outside of their cages. In the wild they have a gliding membrane so they need to be let out of their cage anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour at least in a supervised area where they cannot get into any harm. They like to ride around on your body especially if you have a single sugar glider they require a lot of one on one attention so they do not become lonely. I suggest that if you are going to have a single glider you need to seriously consider spending about four hours a day with them. I know that sounds excessive but these guys are very attention needy and they will become depressed and stop eating if they are kept alone without enough attention.
