"NICOLE BRAGG: On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Nicole and I'm here to tell you about Veiled Chameleons. There are a lot of different products that I find useful for the care of my chameleon and as far as food supplements go, I use the Sticky Tongue Farms. This is something that I really like. I purchased this from my local pet store. It's called Miner-All. What it is, it's a mineral supplement, a vitamin and mineral supplement that I add on top of her food to provide her the vitamins that she's missing out on in the diet that she receives here at home. Now, if you--what this has in it, it has Vitamin D in it. And if your chameleon already gets a lot of natural sunlight or has a very high percentage of output UVB rays in her lighting that you use then you may not want to use a supplement like this. But they do also have supplements without Vitamin D in it which you can purchase. They actually make the same supplement with a red top that is--the only difference is that it does not have the Vitamin D in it. So, that should be available at your local pet store. I also use something called vitamin spray. She is somewhat difficult to give supplements to considering her diet. The insects aren't as easy to keep; the powder supplements on. So, sometimes I find this useful. What this does is it--you spray it right--directly on to the reptile and they absorb it through their skin. It contains electrolytes so that your lizard stays hydrated. It helps with the shedding of their skin. It keeps warm moisture in their skin so that when they do want to shed, it's a little bit easier for them. And it also, as I said, contains the vitamins that they need. Now, in her water, I do get her water straight from the tap. So, what I do is I purchased this, it's called ReptiSafe. This is something that I add to the water and it's great for--I use this on all my reptiles. What this does is it removes all the harsh chemicals and minerals that are in the water that comes out of the tap and it makes it safe for any reptile to drink. Now, another product that I use on her is the Mite Guard. This is a prevention aid. I use this in the bottom of her cage. What you do with the Mite Guard is--it's a powder and you don't have to have mites to use this. In fact, if you have mites, you may want to take care of the mite problem before you begin to use this. But what this does is it sits right in the bottom of the cage, underneath the substrate and it protects the aquarium or the environment from parasites such as mites. This is a product called Worm Guard. This is something that I use to--if I fear my reptiles have worms which would--I would have a good idea if my reptile had worms if she was eating but was not gaining weight or was looking like she wasn't eating, a good possibility is worms. So, this is often a home remedy for something such as worms. It will cause the lizard to expel these things. Now, if you have a difficult feeder, something that's good to add to the water is Appetite Plus this will--this contains enzymes that will create a desire for your animal to eat."
