"Hi, I'm Johan Svahnström on behalf of Expert Village. When you should start worrying, though, is if your leopard gecko stops eating. I mean, that's the most basic sign of a lizard that's being ill. It quits eating. After it stopped eating for a while, the tail is going to sink in, it's gonna get real skinny, floppy looking. And, also, if your lizard is really lethargic. All of a sudden, it's been feisty, it's been hard to pick up maybe for a little while. All of a sudden it just sits in your hand without moving another good sign. But, the most important thing is to see if it doesn't eat. If it doesn't eat one day or two days, don't worry about that because they're not supposed to eat every single day. But, if they don't eat like for a full week, that's not good. What do you do then if he gets sick? Is there a vet that could take care of your geckos? Well, there are vets that are really good with reptiles, but they're not that common. Very rare to find a lot of them in your area. Try to check out beforehand, before you buy your gecko, see if you can find a veterinarian that specializes in reptiles. One of the most common illnesses that would happen to your leopard gecko is parasites, internal parasites. That can be cured, but it's not easy. You have to go to take it to a vet. Well, one of the things that you should not be alarmed by is that if your leopard gecko all of a sudden, one morning when you open up the tank it's all white. They're just going to be shedding skin, just like a snake would. That's not to worry about."
