"And of course, you know, do your research, find out what different types of snakes are out there, what's available in your area. And find one that you find attractive, find one that you're interested in. You know all these other things we're talking about as far as health of the reptile, and legality, and things like that for everybody's safety, you don't want to loose sight of why you're keeping the animal. Which is, to observe a beautiful and interesting animal in your home. So make sure you're finding an animal that is attractive to you, maybe has interesting behaviors that you like, do as much reading about as many different species as you possibly can. Get a wide variety of information to choose the correct animal for you. If you don't like how say a blood python looks, which is what I'm holding here in my hands, maybe you're more interested in a longer, thinner snake, like a tree boa. Or something with a little less patterning. Find out what strikes your fancy. And then find the snake that will match that for you with the best of your ability. A lot of people go right out and pick up a ball python, just because it's cheap and available, but not necessarily the best snake for them. Do your research, find the right snake for you."
