"And of course another very important key factor in deciding what type of snake you're going to get is the food. Now a larger snake is going to need a larger prey item. Like for instance, your blood python at five to six feet is going to be needing large rats. If say you purchased a Burmese python you know at full length an adult size he's going to be eating adult rabbits. If you can't handle that sort of thing, you don't want to be feeding off large prey items, you need to buy a snake that's not going to reach that type of size. Say like a corn snake, who's going to be eating at best adult mice. They stay nice and small at their prey size, a little more manageable and much easier to get too, also consider that availability of prey item in the market place of your local area. If it's hard to find feeder rabbits then you definitely don't want to be buying a large snake that needs feeder rabbits. However, pinkie mice and adult mice should be readily available. You know, but perhaps that too small, there's also your medium size snakes. Your spotted python which are going to be eating adult mice as well, they get a little bit larger. Take these things into account, if you can't handle feeding the right size prey for the snake. You need to not have that snake. You need to choose a different snake, of a different size requirement, so that you and the snake are both happy with your decision."
