"Hi my name is Sarah and I’m coming to you from Petland in Pinborough Pines, Florida today and on behalf of expertvillage.com, I am going to speak with you today about how to buy a pet bird. Another thing to consider when you are looking to buy a bird is whether or not you want a hand raised bird. Generally we do recommend hand raised birds and they tend to be more docile and well socialized with people and thusly, be a lot friendlier. One thing that we do not recommend is that you get a baby bird and handle it yourself. It is generally best to leave the hand raising to the bird breeder and to get a fully weaned bird at a fairly young age. It is important not to do the hand raising yourself because we will very often see aggression problems with these hand-raised birds that continue to live with the owner into adulthood.
