One other thing to think about when you are considering bringing a bird into your house is if you have any young children. Generally it is not recommended for households with young children to have some of these larger birds as these birds even if they are playing or fighting cannot inflict a very nasty bite on a small child. In some other situations, the children torment the bird can see behavioral problems arise and this is a very undesirable situation for both the bird and the household family. Some of the larger birds can be appropriate for households with older children to teenagers as older children or teenagers are most capable of understanding how to deal with these larger birds. It is very important that if you have any children in the house that they are properly taught that they should have a very healthy amount of respect for any larger birds living in the household.
