"Another feature around Allister's cage is a baby gate. This is for Allister's safety as well as children or visitors that come in that don't know him. With his beak he could bite and definitely hurt an adult as well as do some damage to a child who always want to stick their fingers in the cage. So we put the gate around the cage and also helps keep our other pets, the dog and cat, away from his house so that he can stay safe and when visitors come in it kind of makes them think twice about walking up because the gate is there. They realize it's some sort of a deterrent and will ask before they stick their finger in the cage because he would bite a stranger. "
