"Hi my name's Elizabeth and I'm speaking on behalf of expert village. What we're talking today about is teaching your bird to come to you when called and this can be expanded, Ronan's a fully flighted bird this can be expanded to simply having a bird come and fly to your hand. You can start with something simple like step up, good, and then you give em a treat and from there. Once the step up is done it'll be a series of things you do the next thing would be come here so, can I have this back Missy I'm gonna make you work for it again come here, So I'll make Missy come and walk to the end of the perch. Come here. She's more entertaining more interested in a treat. Come here, good girl. So you'll use a word that you want for her to come over and offer another treat and you'll soon start making the length of which she has to travel farther and farther. Obviously Missy bird cannot fly cause she doesn't have feathers so the best I can do is get her to walk across a room to come and get her treat but she would come I could say, "Missy bird come here" and then she would know that, that command then meant, at the end of that, wherever that lead was if she comes to me she's gonna get an almond. For teaching a bird to fly to you it's very simple you use the, do the come here follow that with a step up and offer the treat. Soon you can start walking farther, farther away from the cage or whatever their stand is and say come here and offer your hand most birds will make the connection and the leap once they have the come here command understood very clearly that if they come to you they're gonna get a treat. You hold an almond in one hand or whatever their favorite treat is say come here, offer your hand, and most of the time if your bird is flighted will come and fly to your hand. It's just a matter of bridging the behavior form the walking over and the treat understanding that the come here command means that they're gonna get food when they come to you and understanding the step up command as well."
