"This is Grace Fitzpatrick here on behalf of Expert Village and I am going to talk to you about keeping your cats off your furniture. It is natural for cats to scratch. They have claws that grow back really quickly and if they don't keep them sharpened at all times they can get uncomfortable and painful for a cat. It is just something they have to do naturally. Unfortunately, this is not great when you are trying to keep your furniture half way decent. So there is a solution that I have found that works really well and that is to buy a cat scratcher. I have furniture that is incredibly scratched up. You wouldn't even be able to recognize it and finally I went out and bought one of these cardboard cat scratchers. You can find them at any major supermarket and I found that it does wonders. I just sprinkle a little bit of cat nip on top, just sprinkle it a little layer and now they can't stay away from it. In fact, I haven't seen them on my furniture at all since I've got this thing. If cats are inevitably going to scratch something, it is better that they scratch the cardboard cat scratcher that you bought them instead of your nice furniture. "
