I just just showed you how to make a classic, simple cat toy out of a sock and now I'm going to show you how to put catnip in a sock. Putting catnip in a sock can really spice up a cat toy. But, you have to be careful with catnip because nobody really know why but for some reason when cats get in the vacinity of catnip or ingest it or sniff it they tend to act a little crazy. So, even though cats love a little bit of catnip you don't want to give them too much because we don't really know what it does to them and it's best not to mess with things like that. So, I'm going to put a moderate amount of catnip in the sock. Here I have my bag of catnip, it's just garden variety catnip. I bought it at the store. This is something you could keep in your freezer if you want to keep it fresh for a long time or you can just keep it on a shelf. But, one thing you want to be careful of it not to keep it somewhere where your cats can get it. Because, believe me they will get it and then there will be mayhem. What I am going to do is take my sock. Make sure it's nice and loose so the catnip will fall to the bottom and what we are going to be aiming to do is to get the catnip in the toe. I'm just going to put some in there. OK, so the catnips consistency makes it sort of stick to the side of the sock giving it a nice lining on the inside and spreading the scent along the whole sock. But, in the end there's a little reserve of catnip. Just to give you an idea of how much I used, it's a very small amount. It's basically like that much, about. Unlike the regular sock toy, I'm going to tie a knot at the end of this one so that the catnip won't get out but it will still be along the whole sock.
