"Hi, this is Grace Fitzpatrick I'm here today on behalf of Expert Village. I'm going to talk to you about making a string toy with something attached to it for your cats. So I just showed you how to make a string toy here and I also showed you how to make a tin foil rod. Now, something that's great about making your own cat toys is you can be imaginative and you can combine more than one toy. So, I'm going to tie the rod to the string and come up with a completely new toy. Take the string, take about three inches to the end, three inches from the end and I'm just going to wrap it around the middle of the rod here. I'm just going to tie it in a tight bow. Something great about this toy is it can be held from either end creating variety and two actually different fun toys. If you hold it by the rod end it's easier for you to have something to grab on to and you can sort of bounce the string up and down, having a little more control. If you hold it by the string end you are creating a completely different feeling toy. Al the weight is on this end so you can really move an object and drag it around and create a different dynamic for the cat that can be really fun. With the rod attached to the string you can have a lot more range of motion because there is a heavy object. The string kind of floats and this really falls around and bounces and makes and arc and the cat will just follow that with his or her eyes because it's going to be attacted to the light and it's going to be glittering and be more of a concrete object that they can grab on to."
