"Cats frequently do have a vomiting issue because if you look at a cat very closely, their tongue is very raspy, and they're actually doing a lot of grooming and so they swallow a lot of hair. And I think it's actually pretty normal for a cat to throw up even once a week. If a cat's throwing up every day, then that may be a medical problem, you need to call your veterinarian. But we're going to talk to Kim a little bit about how to control Midnight's fur ball. Kim, are you doing anything special for your other cat at home for fur ball medication? No. Okay, does your cat ever throw up? All the time. Oh really? Okay, and do you see some fur in the vomit when they throw up? Oh yea. Okay, so one of the things that we're finding is if you can use a product, something like this one, it's called Laxatone. Laxatone is a really good product for your cat, and I think sometimes people can overdo it. You shouldn't use it every day. But maybe once a week would be a good idea. And what this does is it actually mixes with the fur in your cat's intestinal track and it allows it to pass on through without causing gastric problems and vomiting. And so this would be an excellent product for your cat at home, and I think probably all cats should have it maybe once a week. I think cats in this part of the country are itchier and they do more grooming in the summertime, and so maybe you want to do it three times a week in the summertime. But in the wintertime, when they're not as itchy, just do it once a week."
