" Hi! I am Dr. Adrienne Mulligan and on behalf of expertvillage.com today I am going to talk a little bit about what happens when you absolutely cannot travel with your pet and as much as we would love to take our babies with us and with dogs that can sometimes be easier and with cats it is always not so easy because they don’t travel well or because where you are going they are not allowed. For instance if you are going on a cruise you cannot take pets and so there may be times when you need to figure out a different plan. So instead of traveling with your pet you should think about making the time fun for them while you are gone and there are wonderful, wonderful pet hotels springing up all around the country that you can put your cat at where they have beautiful cat suites, where they can watch fish and watch birds and enjoy their time while you are gone and they get very good care at these places and people are there to watch them and make sure they don’t stop eating which is a big concern with cats when they are bored. So be very careful if you need to travel without your cat and you are looking for a place to keep your cat, a kennel sometimes the plain old kennel is not the greatest place. You have got dogs barking and not enough staff to really watch your cat and cats can get into trouble if they are not eating well or if they are stopped being able to go to the bathroom for various reasons and so you really want to keep cats at a very special place that does a good job with cats.
