" Hi! I am Dr. Adrienne Mulligan and on behalf of expertvillage.com today I am going to talk to you a little bit about the car safety and leaving your pet in a car if you are traveling and need to stop for gas or stop for food. So the thing that I wanted to caution you about is weather changes or weather conditions can definitely make your car a very unsafe place to leave the pet. So depending on where you are in the country and what time of the year be very careful about leaving your cat in a crate in a car while you get dinner or stop for gas or go to visit the grand canyon or something like that because it can get very hot inside of your car very quickly and even just cracking the windows isn’t enough. So if you cannot get you kitty out to where it can have a breeze then you should leave someone in the car with the motor running and the air-conditioning because cats can die very fast in a car that gets too hot from the weather outside and then the car getting too hot inside.
