" Hi! I am Dr. Adrienne Mulligan. I am the owner of Camp Verde Veterinary Clinic. I am here today on behalf of expertvillage.com, and I am here to talk to you about taking care of cats with critical conditions, critical emergencies and health issues. And one more infectious disease that kittens can get, that looks pretty ugly, is a diarrhea that will not resolve with deworming, or with anything that might try to do, and it is a condition called panleukopenia. And if you know anything about dogs, dogs get a disease called Parvo, and panleukopenia is sort of the cat form of the doggie Parvo. And so it causes them to vomit and diarrhea and get dehydrated, and they get very sick; and Parvo we have gotten a bit of the handle on, so they do not die as frequently from Parvo, but panleukopenia is still about a 50-50 chance. If the kittens get panleukopenia, it takes a lot to try to save them, and you just do not have a real good success rate, and so that is one more pretty ugly little disease. And all these I have talked about are all diseases that can be prevented with vaccinations. "
