"Hi I’m Dr. Adrienne Mulligan on behalf of Expert Village.com and I am going to talk to you a little bit about the types of bowls you want to use for your cats and it is really an important subject because a lot of cats are prone to getting feline acne. Feline acne is little red sores that actually we can see on Vincent because he’s got a pretty good case of it. Basically they get really pink around their lips and swollen around their lips like he looks and it really is acne just like with people acne. He doesn’t have any active bumps right now but that is because I have been feeding him out of proper bowls. Now the bowls that have been incriminated in making feline acne are actually made of plastic. So although this is a really nice looking pizzazz type bowl, it is made of plastic and potentially can create acne in your cat’s face. So it is much preferable to use ceramic. Ceramic bowls are very nice but breakable so be careful and then the other kind of bowl would be like a stainless steel bowl for water and food."
