" Hi, this is Elise McMahon for Expert Village.com and in this video series we are talking about walking your dog. If you would like to find out more about more services, you can take a look at my website at www.canineheadstart.com. What we are going to be talking about in this little video clip is getting your dog into a car. So we’ve already gone through pin the dog’s leash on and getting them out of door or gate. Let’s assume that on a walk we are going to be driving somewhere to take our dog. So we need to teach the dog to get in and out of the car. We’ve got the dog leashed up and I am going to show you the steps involved in teaching a dog to get in and out. So ask a dog to wait before I open the door. Tai, this way. Let’s go. Wait. Then open the door, wait and I don’t want the dog just jumping in. I might have kids in the car and I might have packages on the seat so I want the dog to be able to sit here and wait until I ask them to get in. Wait. I am going to take the leash off, wait. Okay. And then I am going to release the dog to get into the car. Once the car is well in with no feet or tail sticking near the door, then I can close the door and we are ready to go for our ride. "
