"Hi! This is Beverly for Expert Village. In this clip, we are going to be talking about how to prepare to bring your pet to a boarding facility. Almost all boarding facilities require some vaccination records and this is a good thing because with so many pets in close contact, you want to make sure that none of them are sick. Bring your pet's medical records and any medications or ailments that they might have, put them on a piece of paper and leave them with your facility. Also you are going to want to leave your vet's name and contact information just in case there is an emergency. Some facilities allow you to bring items from home that will make your pet more comfortable such as bedding. If you bring in bedding, make sure that it is unwashed and make sure that it still has the smell of home. You can also bring other items that smell like home; toys, one of your T-shirts something like that usually make the pet more comfortable. Some boarding facilities allow you to bring in your own food as well. So if you do that and your pet is on a special diet, make sure you have enough food for the entire length of the pet stay. Also if you have any treats that might make the pet more comfortable, sometimes they allow that. Make sure you check with the boarding facility to make sure that these things are all allowed. Make sure you are aware of the drop off and pick up times at the facility you have chosen. Some facilities are closed on Sundays and if you get home on a Sunday, you might have to pick up your pet on a Monday and pay for an extra night. Also when you drop off your pet, make sure you are calm and matter of fact. Most pets can pick up on your stress level. So if you are not stressed, they are not stressed. "
